November Glossybox Review

I know, it’s nearly December and I’m only just getting round to reviewing this month’s box, it’s been a very busy month! So anyway, this month sees the last classic pink box of the year and as always, it didn’t disappoint. Here’s a recap of what was inside:

  • Beauty UK Contour/Powder brush
  • SportFX Lip Balm
  • Collection Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder
  • Boots Charcoal & Willow Bark Sheet Mask
  • Greenfrog Botanic Natural Bodywash

So let’s start from the top.

Beauty UK Contour/Powder Brush

I needed a new contour brush as I’ve just started using a powder rather than a cream stick so this was perfect timing! This brush is great, the bristles are soft but a really nice thickness so it picks up a good amount of product and spreads it evenly. It retails at £6.99 and I’d definitely say it was worth that, it feels like a quality brush with a decent weight behind it.

SportFX Candy Floss Moisturising Lip Balm

This is the 3rd SportFX product I’ve had from Glossybox now and I’ve got to say, I’m quite impressed with what they produce. I seem to keep losing this to my toddler though as he loves the shape. It’s like a little pink and black mushroom which makes it easy to apply without having to use your fingers (apart from to hold the bottom obviously) you can apply it directly to your lips. It has a slight pink tint but nothing over the top and it is definitely moisturising! I’ve started to get chapped lips thanks to the weather so I’ve been applying this before bed to let it work it’s magic and by morning my lips are ready for a layer of matte lipstick. SportFX products are designed for gym bunnies which I definitely am not but I am still a little in love with their products. This retails at £4.99 so a pretty average price for a decent lip balm but this particular product was designed exclusively for Glossybox.

Collection Cosmetics Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder – Brunette

I love a good eyebrow product, second to a good lipstick. For someone who only ever used to do their brows if they were going “out out” they are now an essential part of my daily makeup routine and I now have a range of different types of brow goodies from pencils to powders. I think this particular one is a new favourite though, it goes on really easily and blends with a spoolie just as well. The applicator is a really fine brush so you’re less likely to make mistakes and if you do it’s easily rectified. It makes my brows look thicker and fuller but still natural which is perfect for me as I hate them looking too stuck on. At £4.19 RRP I feel it is an absolute bargain and I’d definitely buy another one.

Boots Charcoal & Willow Bark Sheet Mask

There is usually something I’m not keen on in these boxes and this month it’s this. As I’ve said before, I have sensitive skin and I have to be a bit careful about what I apply to my face. The back of the packet does say you may experience a tingling sensation…. Well….. I felt like I was being stung by a thousand fire ants! It’s a deep cleansing mask so I wasn’t expecting it to go very well but I could only stand it for 5 minutes before I had to take it off and wash my face. My skin was red for quite a while after using it but it didn’t last that long. I honestly can’t say how well it worked as it should have been on for 15 minutes but for £2.50 I think these masks are worth a go. I’m interested to see if they have an anti-aging one in the range.

Greenfrog Botanic Natural Bodywash Geranium & Peppermint

This product is the reason my review is late going on the blog, I kept forgetting to use it! Oops! I finally did today though. The packaging is simple but still quite pretty and the product inside is ok too. I’m not overly keen on the smell but then I don’t really like the smell of mint so I was never going to love it. The consistency is a little watery in comparison to my current body wash but it is beautifully moisturising! Even nearly 12 hours after use my skin still feels lovely and soft. I think £8.95 is a little steep for a bodywash but it’s made from natural ingredients and it’s made in the UK so you kind of expect it to be higher than usual. I don’t think I’d purchase it for every day use but as a treat it is worth it, I’d just want a different smell.

That’s it for this month and next month’s box isn’t far away! I have only seen 1 sneak preview so far and I’m going to try and avoid looking at anything else as I do love the surprise! If you want a box yourself then click the link below and you’ll get 20% off your first one.
