Sea Safety – 5 Things To Know Before Heading To The Beach

Living so close to the sea, nothing fills me with dread more than the sound of a helicopter. During the summer, this sound over my house usually signifies that something bad is happening in the sea. Sea safety is fundamental and I don’t understand why it is not taught in schools. Not just by the coast but across the country. I’ve always lived near the sea. I moved up the coast for a few years but that’s as far as I’ve gone. Growing up, I have memories of being taught about the dangers of the sea. Don’t get me wrong, I have done some of the things I’m going to…

Sugar & Sloth Tiny Party Club Subscription Box

Well, a few posts ago I told you guys I was ending my Glossybox subscription and had signed up to something completely different! Well, this is it. I am now a member of the Sugar & Sloth Tiny Party Club! For someone who wears a lot of black, I absolutely love the Japanese culture of Kawaii. Which literally means “cute”, “lovely” or “adorable”. I have always been a big fan of Japanese culture and it’s the one place I have on my travel bucket list. I’m not really fussed about anywhere else! I discovered Sugar & Sloth on Instagram a few months ago and instantly fell in love with the…

    Femme Luxe Loungewear Review

I was lucky enough to be sent some gifted items from Femme Luxe in order to do a review! I love doing things like this as it’s not something I’d usually buy myself (I’m a leggings kind of girl on off days anyway!). During lock down I’ve definitely found myself wearing my comfies more often, as have a lot of people I’m sure. Loungewear has grown in popularity over the last couple of years. It’s more stylish than plain ol’ pyjamas, comfier than overstretched leggings and you can actually leave the house in it without being judged in the supermarket or at the school gate! When Femme Luxe asked to…

A Quick Life Update From Me

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I posted but I’d like to get back to it again. I thought I’d kick it all back off with a quick life update. You may have seen my post about going through a Colposcopy, the 2nd stage of Cervical Cancer screening. Well, I was diagnosed with early stage Cervical Cancer but luckily my 2nd LLETZ procedure came back all clear! Surprisingly, this didn’t actually hit me as hard as I thought it would. I knew that it was caught early enough that it hadn’t had chance to spread. The worst procedure I’d have to go through would be a hysterectomy but I…

    Shuffle Songs Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Ruth of Ruth In Revolt to join in with the Shuffle Songs Tag. I love posts like this where you find out something slightly random about different bloggers. Music is a massive part of my life and there is always something playing in our house so this is probably my favourite tag so far! I put my Spotify favourites on shuffle and this is the first 10 songs it played: Jumpin’ Jumpin’ – Destiny’s Child Wow, takes me back to school! I’m a massive old school Destiny’s Child fan but I can’t stand Beyonce’s current “music” (I use the term loosely). Nine In The Afternoon…

An Open Letter To The Girl On The Bench

You could only have been 19. Sat outside the shops on the bench next to me, pouring your heart out to who I can only presume is your Dad. Saying he doesn’t care but it’s clear that he does; he’s there and he’s listening, letting your snarky remarks bounce off him like rain. By the sounds of it, you’re blinded by love. We’ve all been there but sometimes we get caught up wearing those rose tinted glasses and the outside world doesn’t see what we do; the outside world sees it clearly. Your Dad is desperately trying to talk some sense into you, to get you to leave him; the…

    April Glossybox Review

I really do love receiving my Glossybox each month, you get such a variation of products to try and some of them you wouldn’t pick up yourself in store. This month was very much a makeup filled box which I always manage to use pretty quickly so it hasn’t taken long for me to review the items really.

    Mexican Rice

This is something I used to cook way before I started “dieting” and now it seems every time I have it on the menu we end up with a takeaway! Tonight, I finally managed to cook it again and I forgot how good it is for a simple, 1 pan dish. It’s a great way of using up wrinkly veg too as you can chuck whatever you fancy in it. You can also make it vegetarian, which I have done many times before, by simply removing the chicken. Also, you can make it as spicy or mild as you like, as with pretty much all my recipes, this is child…

    April Glossybox Reveal

I’ve been getting Glossyboxes for a whole year! It’s my blog’s birthday this month and one of the first posts I done was a Glossybox review: https://afterbabyblog.wordpress.com/2017/04/24/my-first-glossybox/ I’ve loved getting these boxes and I’ve tried so many products that I would have never picked up myself! This month I had my first ever repeat though which is disappointing though.
