CBD And Me – Herts Hemp CBD Oil

My Instagram feed has mentioned CBD quite a lot recently. I was using it in vape form before lock down happened and then due to that, I couldn’t get any juice from my normal supplier. I didn’t actually realise quite how much it was doing for me though. My pain flare ups have increased quite considerably since we went into lock down unfortunately. I was looking at some different options when the lovely people at Herts Hemp offered me a trial of their CBD oil. Disclaimer – Herts Hemp gifted me their products, all thoughts and feelings are my own and in no way influenced by the company. I’ve tried…

How Joint Hypermobility Syndrome Affects Me

I had a bad pain flare a couple of days ago and it made me realise that no many people around me really understand what’s going on. I get pains for a number of reasons; usually my back. So when I say “everything hurts” they don’t get why. My Mum doesn’t even know the in’s and out’s of my condition so I thought I’d write a post about how Joint Hypermobility Syndrome affects me and what it actually is. Hypermobility is quite common. 1 in 10 people have hypermobile joints or are “double jointed”. Just because you have hypermobile joints doesn’t mean you’ll develop Hypermobility Syndrome. This is much rarer…

5 New Things To Learn While In Lock Down

Another week has past. Does anyone know what day we’re currently on? Thanks to Covid-19 I’m actually more confused than the weird week between Christmas and New Year! We’re still in lock down and I know many people won’t feel the same as me here but…. I’ve had so much time on my hands I’ve actually been doing things I wouldn’t usually have time to do. I decided to compile a short list of 5 new things to learn while in lock down. Fingers crossed it gives someone an idea! I am actually still working 2 days a week at the moment. I work for a care company and though…

Covid-19 – An Open Letter To Everyone

To whoever reads this. Covid-19 (Corona Virus) is a little hard to ignore right now. It’s not something we ever thought was possible, it’s a movie plot! Nothing seems real at the moment. Every morning I wake up and for those first few seconds I’ve forgotten what’s going on in the world. It’s bliss. I soon remember though and that sinking feeling creeps back in. I live in an area that hasn’t been hit properly by it yet. But it’s coming this way. I’m sure it won’t be long before the local hospital announces its first cases and sadly, first deaths. Mostly, I’m a positive person but even I’m a…

10 Things I’ve Learnt In My Early 30’s

This week I turned 33! I’m starting to feel old at times now but I don’t see it as a bad thing. I feel older but I also feel wiser and happier than I’ve ever been. Last year I wrote a 32 Things I’ve Learnt In 32 Years post so this year I’ve decided to reflect on the 10 things I’ve learnt in my early 30’s instead. I may struggle to come up with 10 things but I’ll give it a go! One – Life is short. 33 years has passed so quickly. 2019 literally flew by, I have no idea where it went. One minute it was January, then…

How To Get A Better Night’s Sleep – 5 Top Tips

I suffered quite a bit from insomnia during the summer of 2019. It was horrible! At my worst, I went 3 days with no sleep. I know what triggers mine, it’s a mix of anxiety and pain. Unfortunately it becomes a vicious cycle that’s really hard to break. I go to bed worrying I won’t sleep and then funnily enough… I don’t! I went to a pain management seminar this week and one of the sections was how to get a better night’s sleep. I found it really useful so I thought I’d share some of the tips. Having chronic pain can really interrupt sleep. I know from my personal…

How To Remove Negativity From Your Life – 5 Top Tips

It seems really difficult to to remain positive with all the negativity we see on a daily basis. I’m not saying everyone should be in some happy bubble of ignorance all of the time. Some people though, just need a little boost of positivity. I’ve written this post to share ways on how to remove negativity from your life. These are tried and tested by myself. I don’t ever remember life being so depressing when I was younger. Every which way you turn these days negativity just smacks you in the face. Which made me realise how much things have changed in the last 10/20 years. I’m nearly 33 so…

No Spend January – The Big Plan

Happy New Year! It’s the time of year where everyone sets their goals for the coming year. I don’t set resolutions as they’re pretty much guaranteed to fail. I don’t want to put pressure on myself to lose weight or stick to a fitness plan. Mr and I have decided to have a “No Spend January” though. Christmas is an expensive time of year and it’s Little Man’s birthday the week before! This means I tend to dip into my savings. That is what they’re there for at the end of the day but I still don’t like going below a certain amount. I like having a buffer just in…

    My New Year Revelation

We’re in that weird, no man’s land of time, between Christmas and New Year. Nobody knows what day it is or what they’re supposed to be doing. It’s given me a chance to think though. I’ve had a New Year Revelation! I started my blog off the back of my Instagram page but it has evolved over the years. I have recently lost love for Instagram though. It’s hard to get decent engagement and without spending 24/7 on the app, it’s almost impossible to build a following. Because of this, I’ve decided that 2020 will be the year I finally use Instagram for what I wanted in the first place.…

A Quick Life Update From Me

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I posted but I’d like to get back to it again. I thought I’d kick it all back off with a quick life update. You may have seen my post about going through a Colposcopy, the 2nd stage of Cervical Cancer screening. Well, I was diagnosed with early stage Cervical Cancer but luckily my 2nd LLETZ procedure came back all clear! Surprisingly, this didn’t actually hit me as hard as I thought it would. I knew that it was caught early enough that it hadn’t had chance to spread. The worst procedure I’d have to go through would be a hysterectomy but I…
