I don't travel far but outings are a big part of my life so they need their own category. I write about anywhere and everywhere we go as a family or as a couple.

However, you also need to ensure you unwind and have some fun as well. It is all about finding the perfect balance. Sussex is definitely somewhere that offers this. Holidays In Sussex The area is made up of a wealth of different cities, towns, and villages, and thus you are assured to find the perfect place…

London Adventures – The Allergy and Free From Show 2019

The Allergy and Free From Show; Now my third favourite foodie day of the year! My first being Christmas and second is Bonfire Night (a family tradition). I found out about the Allergy and Free From Show shortly after changing my diet last year. My niece has Coeliac Disease so it seemed like an ideal day out. Well, I’ve never seen a little girls eyes light up quite like my niece’s did when I told her that as long as she was on green carpet, the food was safe to eat. We rolled out of that show in the end! With bags stuffed full of gluten free goodies. So of…

London Adventures – A Night At The Piano Works

Recently Mr and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. We’ve only ever been away together once before due to the children. Because of this, we had decided that 5 years is a pretty big milestone and we needed to celebrate it. A night away was needed but staying closer to home would be easier. London it was! Stratford is only an hour and a half’s drive from where we live. We worked out it was cheaper to park at Westfield overnight than getting a train up. That also meant we could just hop on the tube and head into the city without having to drag our overnight bags everywhere. We got…

Frugal Family Days Out That Everyone Will Enjoy

Frugal family days out can be hard to do. Ones that entertain the whole family can be even harder! We’re a family of 4 with an age gap of eight and a half years between the two children. Trying to find days out that a pre-teen and a toddler will both enjoy is always a bit of a challenge. The other issue is the expense. Everything seems to cost a small fortune these days. A day out can easily cost £150+ when you include entrance fees and feeding the little blighters! We like to make the most of our weekends together but we haven’t got the money to be doing…

Heavenly Desserts Colchester – Dessert For Dinner

I will start by saying, this is not the post I was going to put out today but it had to be done! If you follow me on Instagram then you will probably have seen that I went to Heavenly Desserts Colchester on Monday (7th January 2019). I took far too many pictures and wanted to say a lot more than Instagram would allow so I had to blog about the experience! Dessert restaurants have become a massive thing in the last few years and who’s really surprised? I know when I go out for dinner I’m usually too full for dessert. I will normally force one down though because,…

Date Night In A Small Town – What We Do

As parents, we don’t often get chance to go out by ourselves. Children take up a lot of time and you can read more about our toddler here. When the opportunity does arise, we certainly try to make the most of it! We live in a small seaside town and to be quite honest, as with most small towns, there’s not much to do. We have a couple of bowling places, a cinema, and a few restaurants. Trying to find something to do for Date Night usually sees us going to one of the nearby, larger towns. Our little cinema is an absolute bargain though. It’s £3.50 a ticket! Even…

    Summer Holiday Fun

It’s been a while since I’ve done a post in Kiddies, mainly because we never really get up to anything overly interesting but it’s the summer so I thought I’d better make some Summer Holiday Fun! Last week I had the week off work which was lovely but it is hard to keep 2 kids of completely different ages entertained on a budget. So here’s a little diary of what we’ve been up to. Monday was rainy and windy (a typical start to the summer holidays!) so we had a day at home and watched a film (The Greatest Showman to be exact). Tuesday, we couldn’t quite decide what to…
