Beauty

Beauty and skincare reviews and life hacks because you want to be the best you as easily as possible. The best natural products from shampoos to soaps, electronics and beauty subscription boxes. I review the products so you can just go buy them. I do monthly Glossybox , subscription box reviews which also offer the chance to get 20% off your first box too. Hair and makeup hacks are just so much fun. I come up with them to make your life easier (and mine too). Life should be fun and it's far too short to spend time on difficult routines.

My Last Ever Glossybox – May 2020

Yes, you read that right. After 3 or 4 years (it’s been that long I can’t remember) I’m finally saying goodbye to Glossybox. This is my last ever Glossybox. I’ve been getting it since my blog started and it was one of my first ever blog posts. As much as I still enjoy it, I think our time together has run its course. I get a lot of the same products and I’m just not getting the joy I once was. It’s time to move on to bigger and brighter things! (Quite literally.) I have now joined another monthly subscription box but it’s not a beauty one and you will…

DECIEM – My Skincare Surprise Box

A few months back I was searching for some new skincare items and was mainly looking at a well known brand called The Ordinary. They’re well known for their well priced skincare and no BS attitude. But I’ll be honest, I had no idea what anything actually does. Because of this, I decided to put out a tweet to DECIEM (the umbrella company the The Ordinary is part of) and ask for some help! I received an email from Danni over at DECIEM asking for more information about my skin type and the problem areas I wanted to sort out. She said she was going to put together a routine…

Form New Skincare Habits During Lock Down

Do you keep meaning to start looking after your skin but just can’t seem to find the time? Why not form new skincare habits right now! What else have you really got to do? You’re not leaving the house apart from to shop for essentials and to get your half hour of exercise. And let’s face it, no one is getting close enough to realise you’re not wearing makeup! I don’t think there is a better time to form new skincare habits, personally. I’ve had a proper skincare regime in place for a good few months now. It did take some getting used to and my other half laughs about…

Wonder Balm – A Pony Called Steve To The Rescue!

I’ve been lucky enough to review items from A Pony Called Steve in the past. I absolutely love what they do and I find the girls so much fun to follow on Instagram too. Just before Christmas, they asked me if I’d tried their new Wonder Balm. Me being honest, and said I hadn’t seen much from them as I had been having a social media break. I knew nothing about said Wonder Balm so they very kindly offered to send me some as a gift. I was under no obligation to post a review but I really wanted to, read on and you’ll realise why. About a week after…

5 Beauty Tips I Would Give To My Daughter

Everyone has their own beauty routines and tips and tricks. There are particular ones I have that I feel like I should share. My Mum shared beauty tips with me and these are the 5 beauty tips I would give to my daughter. I’m sure she probably won’t listen but I’m pretty sure I didn’t listen to my mum either! It’s only as you get older that you realise she was right. 1) Always remove mascara in an upwards motion. This is a tip my mum gave to me. It apparently reduces black circles and is kinder the the gentle under eye skin, reducing the chance of developing wrinkles. I…

July 19 Glossybox Review – Holiday Haul Box

The July 19 Glossybox was jam packed with holiday must-haves. From hair care to makeup, it had a little bit of everything. I know it’s now August and the next box is out for delivery but I had to share what was in this one. I’ve been getting a Glossybox for over 2 years now and I’m very rarely disappointed. There has been the odd double up, but only a couple of times. It’s good value for money in my opinion and I can’t see myself cancelling my subscription any time soon. So let’s have a little look inside this month’s box. We have: Moroccanoil Hair Oil Omorovicza Cleansing Foam…

Lush Hair Care Bars – Naturally Gorgeous Hair

I bought a couple of Lush hair care bars a few months back to give them a try. You can’t beat a good hair care product so I figured I may as well review them. I really struggle with shampoos and how much they irritate my scalp. I found an amazing shampoo and conditioner a while back when I got sent them to review. Click Here to read that review. For the first time ever I got rid of the itchy lumps that had plagued me for years! My hair felt amazing and healthy and life was good. Then my local Tesco stopped stocking them and I’ve not found them…

My Favourite Beauty Products – May 19

I genuinely can’t believe it’s June already! Where is this year going? May was a fantastic month for me, it was so busy and we done so many things! Throughout the month I picked up a few new beauty products that I’m now loving so thought I’d share them! It clearly seems to be a 6 monthly thing as the last time I done a post like this was January. I love trying something new and everything I’ve tried this month has been great. There’s nothing worse than being disappointed by new products. So let’s start with a random Internet purchase that is now one of my favourite beauty products.…

Skincare In Your Early 30’s – My Favourite Products

Skincare in your early 30’s is definitely not the same as it was in your 20’s. Has anyone else noticed this? It’s like a strange period in time where the products you used in your 20’s are now not powerful enough. A lot of the anti-wrinkle creams seem to be aimed at 40+ skin though and are too heavy for 30’s skin. We’re kind of forgotten about and left to our own devices to find something that works. I found that my skin changed almost overnight when I turned 30. Well maybe not that quick but I’m only 32 now! I went from having quite greasy, spot prone skin to…

    March 19 Glossybox Review

It’s been a while since I reviewed a Glossybox. The last one was December but I’ve still had it every month. I try not to write about the same subjects in a month and I’ve had better things to write about when it comes to beauty, like my Lavera Review. I have been considering changing subscription boxes as I’ve been having Glossybox for a couple of years now. I can’t decide what to go for though. So for now I’ll stick with being a Glossy. This month was the classic pink box but with an Empowerment theme. The products have all been created by inspiring entrepreneurs and are in the box to inspire…
