My Diary

My Diary is my lifestyle section. This is for all the posts that don't conform to any of the other categories. They could be about anything from mental and physical health to body positivity. Also, open letters and basic ramblings. It's just whatever takes my fancy. My Diary is where you will find posts about me. Little snippets of information so you can learn about the blogger behind the keyboard. So if you require a little bit of light reading then this is the section for you. If there is anything you think I could write about then feel free to contact me!

    The Codeine Comedown

It’s been a while since I done an update on my back so I thought I’d do one to cover the last month or so. Just to update anyone who hasn’t read the previous posts, at the beginning of the year I slipped a disc (well a few) in the bottom of my spine, as I do around once a year. I ended up spending a week in hospital unable to walk, had a month off work, was on crutches and painkillered up to the eyeballs on Codeine, Morphine, Diazipam, Gabapentin and other fun named drugs. Basically, I broke and you can read about what has happened previously Here and Here.…

10 Ways To Feel Better in Yourself

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week this week and as two thirds of people experience some sort of mental health issue in their lifetime I thought I’d do a little post about 10 ways to feel better in yourself. I myself have experienced anxiety and depression, I’ve also done a little bit of training in counselling and I like to think I’m in a good place mentally now so these are tips that I use personally if I’m having an off day. Just remember- it’s ok not to be ok. Here’s my top 10 ways to feel better in yourself. 1. Get Enough Sleep Everyone says it but getting 7-8 hours…

    Why I’m Ditching The Diet

Well hello again and welcome to my new look blog, isn’t it pretty! As you will see, all my old posts are still here but there have been a few edits that you may notice if you look close enough. I have taken a massive step and I’m moving away from “diet culture” and promoting a company that I have had internal battles with for a while now. Before you run to my Instagram page and click the Unfollow button please take the time to read why I’m ditching the diet and try to understand where I’m coming from and actually, where I want to go now. It all started…

    The New (Unwanted) Me

If you follow me on Instagram or have seen my previous post, you will be aware that I spent a week in hospital at the end of January thanks to slipped discs in my spine. Well this is a bit of an update/getting things off my chest post relating to that. If you want to read the back story of what happened you can find it HERE I’ve now been out of hospital for well over a month and I’m still struggling a lot. I left hospital still barely able to walk and the pain was quite literally uncontrollable.

    Is Age Just A Number?

“Happy Birthday to me!” Yes, today is my 31st Birthday….. 31….. younger me would have said I am now old. I suppose in a way I am but I don’t really feel old and they do say that age is just a number, is that true though?

February – The Month of (Self)Love

Happy Valentines Day everybody! Now, I’m going to sound quite cynical but, I don’t “do” Valentine’s day. I don’t believe that one day is going to make a difference to a relationship and I think love should be celebrated every day. Love isn’t just tied to relationships either…..

    Life In Pain

Imagine waking up every morning, unable to sit on the toilet or bend over the sink to splash water on your face until you’ve been up and walking about for at least half an hour. As some of you may know, if you follow my Instagram, I’ve spent the last week in hospital due to herniated discs in my spine. This is a more personal post than usual but I thought I’d share what’s been happening in the hope it will help people understand what it’s like to live with chronic pain and hopefully sharing the experience will help someone else feel less alone with what they’re going through.

    When Life Takes Over

I don’t get food guilt anymore but I know a lot of people do. They eat a takeaway then regret it and even punish themselves for doing so. I like “bad food”, it’s half the reason I needed to diet in the first place, so I’m not going to stop eating it just because I’m “On Slimming World”.  I usually have a cheat night on a Tuesday after weigh in but sometimes life gets in the way and there are no good options available or, you just don’t want the good options so I will have bad food on a different day as well as my regular Tuesday.

    That Weird Week

Another year is nearly over and we’re currently in that weird week between Christmas and New Year where you don’t really know what to do with yourself or what day it even is. I’m failing miserably at getting back on the Slimming bandwagon but desperate to get back on the yoga train as I literally hurt everywhere! I think the food side I can slowly work on as I clear the crap food from the house and start to refill my fruit bowl with actual fruit instead of chocolate oranges and the pile of sweets that it is currently housing. The exercise part is going to start again today though;…
