Kids

My kids are of course a huge part of my life. I never wanted to be a parent blogger but how could I not include them? This category is to document the fun things we get up to like outings and crafts. It's also to keep a diary of the things they say and do over the years. This is just to embarrass them on their 18th birthdays. Another reason I have this section is of course to rant. Oh, and let other parents know they are not alone. I have a prenager and a toddler so I should be able to come up with some interesting content! Well, you'd hope so.

The Toddler Years – Plastic Tat

Welcome to another edition of the Toddler Years Series! If you haven’t read these posts before, where have you been? Don’t worry though, you can read the previous one here. This week’s post is written by the lovely Jo from A Rose Tinted World. She writes about parenting, lifestyle and sewing over at her blog http://www.arosetintedworld.co.uk. Go check her out! But that’s enough from me…. Plastic Tat I met one of my oldest friends last week who is also a toddler mum. Invariably, the conversation came around to the Christmas question. What were her two children getting (10 and nearly 4)? ‘Plastic Tat’ was the acidic response. Now, I wasn’t…

You can find Scott on Twitter @Jackabyte if you want to mainly read Man United updates. So let’s read about The Toddler Years from Mr Bloggs himself…. I wrote a post…. Forgot the title Our delightful bundle of dictatorship is almost 3. Part of me is impressed I have successfully helped to raise a child this far; I was useless with Tamagotchis! The other…

The Toddler Years – A Series Of Tales And Tantrums

Everyone says having a newborn is hard; sleep deprivation, feeding every 3 hours…. These people have not had a toddler yet! Yes ok, doing night feeds takes its toll, for some it lasts ages, for others it takes a couple of months. But babies do nothing! They eat, they sleep, they shit… Repeat for 24 hours. Toddler parents are a whole different level of tired. A lucky few will have a toddler that sleeps through every night but this does not mean the parent is any less tired. Have you ever wanted to go to bed at 7pm because you’re mentally exhausted? Have you ever drunk that much caffeine you’ve…

    Summer Holiday Fun

It’s been a while since I’ve done a post in Kiddies, mainly because we never really get up to anything overly interesting but it’s the summer so I thought I’d better make some Summer Holiday Fun! Last week I had the week off work which was lovely but it is hard to keep 2 kids of completely different ages entertained on a budget. So here’s a little diary of what we’ve been up to. Monday was rainy and windy (a typical start to the summer holidays!) so we had a day at home and watched a film (The Greatest Showman to be exact). Tuesday, we couldn’t quite decide what to…

The day the carrot came to town…..

The carrot came to town? Yes, I do mean literally…. Here’s a little story about my day and my son’s new best friend. This morning while I was prepping dinner and getting everything in the slow cooker, little man decided to steal a carrot from the cupboard and took it off to the lounge with him. My desperate attempts to retrieve the carrot were met by the typical toddler response of “NO! Mine!” while hugging it. I tried to tempt him with a smaller one but to no avail. He was happy with his carrot, one of the biggest from the bag. He’s not feeling too well as he’s full…

    Feeding The Small Humans

Once upon a time, well, a couple of years ago. I would have said my then 8 year old was a fussy eater. She would only eat things in breadcrumbs or other plain and boring, beige food. Every so often she would eat spag bol but it would be pot luck if she ate either the pasta or the bolognese. She never seemed to like both parts at any one time.

    Little Man’s #OOTD – My Rocking Kids

I have 2 children, a girl aged 10 and a boy aged 1. I still have a small influence over what my daughter wears and she has a very similar taste in clothes to me anyway. But with my mini man, I get to put him in whatever I like and he has no choice! Mwahaha (evil mum laugh). I love anything a little alternative, as I am myself, so one of my favourite outfits of his at the moment is this-
