My Diary

My Diary is my lifestyle section. This is for all the posts that don't conform to any of the other categories. They could be about anything from mental and physical health to body positivity. Also, open letters and basic ramblings. It's just whatever takes my fancy. My Diary is where you will find posts about me. Little snippets of information so you can learn about the blogger behind the keyboard. So if you require a little bit of light reading then this is the section for you. If there is anything you think I could write about then feel free to contact me!

90’s Nostalgia – The Spice Girls Revolution

I love a bit of 90’s nostalgia so when I was asked to write a post around it couldn’t say no! This is a sponsored post but all words are my own. I may actually start off a whole series around 90’s nostalgia from this. It seems like a perfect time to start writing about this topic though. Is it just me or do you feel like you’ve gone back in time just lately? The cinemas seem to have a constant flow of Disney films and I’ve just bought tickets to see 5ive. It just feels like the 90’s are back, the only problem being, I’m now 32, not 12.…

Getting The Perfect Beach Body In 1 Simple Step

Getting the perfect beach body is so simple! I don’t really understand how more people aren’t promoting this to be honest. Though there has been a rise in carrying out this step, it seems more people still need to know. So here it is… I am going to teach you my trick to getting the perfect beach body in 1 simple step! Ready? Put on some swimwear! I know, I know, clickbait at its best. But honestly, it’s the only way to do it! So many people have an issue with swimwear and I can totally relate. I always did too. Especially when you’re at the beach or pool, surrounded…

5 More Things I Wish I’d Known When I Started Blogging

My last post about Things I Wish I’d Known went down a treat. I had comments from new bloggers saying how much they enjoyed the post and will use it. Then I had more seasoned bloggers complimenting it and saying they wish they’d realised those things early on too. I was blown away by the response! It’s amazing given I wasn’t even sure if I was going to post it! So because of that success, I decided to do a part 2. 5 MORE things I wish I’d known when I started blogging. I’ve got to admit, this one has been slightly harder to write but here it is nonetheless!…

Loneliness In The Elderly – Lunch With My Grandma

Loneliness In The Elderly is a paid post on behalf of Welbeing. All opinions are my own. I’m quite lucky that I have my Grandma’s around still. I think I take it for granted a bit though. My Grandma is in her late 80’s and though she has her health problems, she’s still one of the strongest people I know. She lives alone and is very independent but she does struggle at times. A few years back she fell off a ladder and since then her mobility has got worse. She has got a personal Lifeline button in case of emergencies though which puts everyone’s mind at rest. One thing…

Dieting Myths Debunked – What You Don’t Get Told At Group

I’ve been a part of the “Dieting” community on Instagram for over 3 years now. It’s how I started all this and I have a lot to thank it for. Having been around for so long though, you tend to see the same dieting myths mentioned time and time again. Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way saying I’m any kind of expert. I’m not a nutritionist, but I have learnt a bit over the years. It just amazes me how uneducated people are about how their body works. It’s basic science but even consultants for different diet plans aren’t taught about it. The same statements seem to…

    32 Things I’ve Learnt In 32 Years

It was my birthday this week so I figured I’d do a “what I’ve learnt” post like I see so often around people’s birthdays. Most of the time though, the bloggers who do these posts are 10 years younger than me! I’m actually not sure if I can think of 32 things I’ve learnt…. I’ve certainly forgotten more than than that these days! Well, I’ll give it a go anyway….. 32 Things I’ve Learnt in 32 Years 1. I’ve become happier the older I’ve got. 2. Life can be shit at times. 3. You get through the shit times. 4. I can eat healthily. 5. I often don’t want to…

The 5 Worst Things About Living With A Blogger

My other half gave me the idea for this post the other day. I made him wait for his dinner as I needed to photograph it for a new recipe post. While I was faffing, he took some photos of me, taking photos. Yes, this is the extreme I will go to to get pictures. Annoyingly, the photo didn’t even come out that great! My lighting is a bit bleurgh in the kitchen and I am considering investing in some lighting of some sort to rectify this. But that will probably just give him more ammunition to take the piss. After we finally finished dinner, he showed me the pictures…

Let’s crack on with the first 7 then: My Top 7 Posts From 2018 First up…

Heavenly Desserts Colchester – Dessert For Dinner

I will start by saying, this is not the post I was going to put out today but it had to be done! If you follow me on Instagram then you will probably have seen that I went to Heavenly Desserts Colchester on Monday (7th January 2019). I took far too many pictures and wanted to say a lot more than Instagram would allow so I had to blog about the experience! Dessert restaurants have become a massive thing in the last few years and who’s really surprised? I know when I go out for dinner I’m usually too full for dessert. I will normally force one down though because,…

Growers Cup Review – A Lazy Girls Guide To Coffee Brewing

Being a parent, I rely a lot on coffee (and alcohol at times). I run on the stuff like a car runs on petrol. It’s what gets me through a day and I would say I possibly have an addiction. I do find this makes me quite picky about the coffee I’ll drink though. “Any old thing” will definitely not do! I realised a couple of weeks ago that I was a bit of a coffee snob when someone made me a cup and I genuinely couldn’t drink it. It was so weak it tasted like dish water. Safe to say that mug went down the sink. I have a…
